The British School Media Coordinator Savanthi de Silva said the Drive In graduation ceremony was organized as an attempt to carry out their duty towards the students while adhering the health guidelines in relation to social distancing and other precautionary measures against COVID-19 virus.

She said the school held the graduation ceremony for the graduating class with a total of 64 year 13 students who were supposed to graduate this year amidst the COVID-19 pandemic as an appreciation of the students’ efforts this year.

The graduation ceremony commenced at 11.00 a.m. and it proceeded according to time slots assigned to the students previously maintaining minimal interaction with the students. (By Thisari Walawege)

I am Sri Lankan teaching at a secondary school in London. Uniform policemen patrolling the corridors of secondary schools are increasingly common in Britain, this is the reflection of violent culture in this country. Yet the British go over to former colonies and start schools and convince the unsuspecting locals how “ great “ British style of education is. I feel so sad our people back home are so ignorant.

Niromi Sh school of Colombo has nothing to do with Britain even though the name sounds so :) The only thing BRITISH about this school is some academic staff ( I believe a high %) are BRITISH expats ! Of course I think it’s a a good marketing tactic as a biz point of view lol

I am also a teacher in London and my children also schooled in London. I have never come a cross police patrol inside the schools. They are present on streets when school closing times to support children and teachers to go home smoothly. TR must be living and teaching in a very rough area of London to have police patrol inside the school. Therefore, do not generalise and mis-inform the way of schools in London operate.

ACA, unfortunately every community has just a handful of people like you. Do you know how many Teachers, every year, get physically assaulted by pupils in schools in Britain ? Do you know how many female Teachers, every year, get sexually assaulted by pupils in schools in Britain ? Do you know how many Teachers at top private schools in Britain had to resign from their jobs ,last year, because of the stress caused by violent pupils ?

I can safely say that ACA is a Christian. They always defend their masters, they get that training while growing up in Sri Lanka and attending the churches.
