The Foreign Ministry today summoned the Malaysian envoy and registered its protest on Sunday's assault of Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner in Malaysia, I. S. Ansar at the Kuala Lumpur Airport when he had come to send off a visiting Sri Lankan delegation, officials said today.
Foreign Secretary Esala Weerakoon said the Malaysian envoy expressed regret over what happened and informed him of the arrest of five individuals in this connection. (Kelum Bandara)
