The Meteorology Department said that showers or thundershowers would occur at several places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Western and Southern provinces after 2.00 p.m. Today.
Heavy falls about 100mm can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa province and in Galle and Matara districts, it said.
“There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. therefore requested the general public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity,” the Department said.
Meanwhile, the Department said that highest rainfall of 99.8mm was reported in Labugama in Colombo district yesterday.
