The Election Commission will have a special meeting tomorrow (20) with the health experts and the police to discuss modalities for the arrangement of voting facilities for those at quarantine centres or under self-quarantine, an official said.
Commission’s Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya told Daily Mirror that his office would observe the country’s situation closely and decide on steps to be taken.
“We came across a COVID-19 cluster after we declared August 5 as the day of polling,” he said.
Earlier, Mr. Deshapriya said his office was mulling the arrangement of mobile polling centres for the benefit of those under quarantine.

The election commissioner is a joker. He is a political lackey who did not even want to verify the citizenship of the people who contested the presidential election. Came out with lame excuses. He likes to be in front of the media saying what he thinks he cannot do.. closely observe what ..just noise. What is he going to stop COVID -19 before the election by closely observing it now?
