The Minister of Primary Industries Daya Gamage said he personally believed it was appropriate for Minister Ravi Karunanayake to quit his portfolio until his innocence was proved in the allegations against him over obtaining a penthouse from the controversial Central Bank bond dealer Arjun Aloysius.
“Such a decision on the part of the Minister will be good for the party Minister Karunanayake and I represent as well as for the Government,” he said.
When asked about his stance about the No-Confidence Motion against Minister Ravi Karunanayake he said the leader of the party would decide on the matter.(Dayaseeli Liyanage)

Agree. Think he is in a very bad situation and no other options. Still, with politics anything is possible.

Can anybody think of an alternative? We believe, definitely not. So why delay allowing one's dirty linen to be washed in public.

Why everyone is just taking about his resignation? Is there any reason for not to put him on jail for the rest of his life?
john Monday, 07 August 2017 04:22 AM
There is an inquiry going on, it's best for other ministers to carry on with their work without interfering otherwise as Gamage says, more will have to resign when more info comes into light.

Just resigning is not enough. Ravi must payback all the robbed money and should be sent to jail.

Not only Ravi K. All other corrupt ministers like Malik, Kabir who have involved in the scam also should resign.
Fedi Monday, 07 August 2017 12:08 PM
Ravi K would be better candidate for 2020 than Dinesh G.

This gov. came to power promising good governance, when it was badly needed by people ,president favored his colleagues of presidential election by let them to form a government for 100 days, they were minority then , though he has power to do so, how much is it ethical inviting minority party to govern the country.due to his personal grudge, which exposed well so far he pulled MR 's leg announcing that even he got sufficient seats he wont let MR to be the PM.RK started this bloody game when they were in minority government and its coming up that each organizer got 50milion for election work.so all contestants for 2015 august election by UNP are involved this scam.
