President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, who had met for a discussion Saturday night, had agreed on a Cabinet reshuffle within the next four days, Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said today.

They had agreed to effect the Cabinet reshuffle before the National New Year on April 14, he said.

Also the Minister said the UNP delegation led by Prime Minister Wickremesinghe officially requested the President to remove all SLFP members, who voted in favour of No-Confidence Motion against the Premier from the Cabinet.

“We officially made this request and told the President that MPs of UNF has an issue with those who voted in favour of the NCM and to remove them,” he said.

However, the Minister said President informed the UNP delegation that the SLFP Central Committee would have to decide on those who voted in favour.

He said the President also informed the UNP group that the SLFP Central Committee would also have to decide on Unity Government.(Yohan Perera)

Exactly those MP's who voted in favor of NCM should be removed. No matter either SLFP or UNP.

… and now Ranil should not forget the Field Marshall for the Law and Order position, now that he (Ranil) is stronger and Maithripala should have realised that his own decision making and way of thinking are very faulty.

MS enough play dirty politics. Let UNP to govern the country because of UNP you became President. Bankrupt SLFPers should go to opposition. MR should kick them out. Those are lost and bankrupt politicians.

We need a real cabinet reshuffle and not musical chairs. Of course the ministers and MPs who voted for the NCM need to be removed. They should have the dignity to resign as it is ethically not possible to be in a government whose PM they have no confidence. Sirasa does not see anything wrong with these ministers, ha ha ha!

Whatever reshuffle doesn't bring any good to the country. We don't need any more that 10 ministers in this small country. You 225 members are the main problem country is facing right now.

Akila . The UNP can’t think only of them self, we the people who vote you in is who is important therefore we do not want positions given to The lot who voted against the PM . You have only 1 1/2 years to get yr act together or els OUT you go

Leaving the unity government is good for all parties because our politicians are incorrigible and hell bent on dividing the nation.
