Why can't we invest in underground or overground rail in Colombo and Kandy!? Much needed for growth. European loan with less interest rate like the flyover in rajagiriyA

It was the UNP that ruined the public transport system in Sri Lanka by introducing private buses with no standards. This news is welcome. The Indian power sets got down by the Sri Lanka Railway about 6 years ago are already falling apart. The 50 years plus Romanian carriages are still in good shape and in service. I hope the new locos are from the US or Canada.

The locomotives are expensive why not introduce the Metro Kind System similar cost and which villages have no rails remove Colombo and suburbs and locate there.. Metro in India costed only 90,000,000 LKR with station and 4 trains for one station wise. Please make smart decisions and think of future about Sri Lanka.
