Members of the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) and other Buddhist organisations held a demonstration outside the Buddhist Affairs Ministry this evening obstructing the traffic demanding the release of BBS General Secretary Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera, who is in remand custody.
After the demonstration, the members marched towards the President’s House to handover a petition.
Ven. Gnansara Thera was remanded on charges of contempt of court till February 9 by the Homagama Magistrate. (Chaturanga Pradeep)

"BBS demand release of Gnansara Thera" - When a case is pending, has BBS the right to "DEMAND". ? Can this also be construed as going against the judiciary , and therefore "contempt of court" ?
