24 Colonels promoted as Brigadiers

President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces, has approved the promotion of 24 Army Colonels to the rank of Brigadier.

Those promoted are as follows: Colonels D.S.A. Dehiwatta, H.R.R.P. Gunatilaka, (with effect from June 14) M.A.A.D. Sirinaga, (with effect from Oct. 1) J.A.D.P. Jayatilaka (with effect from Nov. 1), T.J. Liyanaarachchi, W.M.R.B. Walisundara, K.R.W.D.M.S. Bandara, D.S.D. Welikala, M.S.C. Perera, M.D.U.V. Gunatilleka, G.R.M.U.K.K. Jayasinghe, N. Hathurusinghe, H.L.V.M. Liyanage, N.R. Lamahewage, T.J. Kodituwakku, H.P. Ranasinghe, N.P.A. Kuranthilake, C.D. Weerasuriya, S.J.M.A.R. Seneviratne, L.W.H. Gamage, A.N. Amarasekara, N.L.K. Samarasingha, T.D. Weerakoon and A.A.S.P. Tilakarathna (with effect from June 25)
