21 injured in wasp attack

At least twenty-one people in a group of tea-pluckers were attacked by a swarm of wasps in an estate in the Norwood area in Nuwara Eliya this morning.

Fourteen were admitted to the Dik Oya hospital for treatments. Police said the wasps attacked after the eagles attacked to the wasp's nest.

until somebody gets killed, the misguided do-gooders will be demonstrating for the protection of these dangerous insects in popular tourist sites such as Sigiriya and elsewhere.
