2,207 election law violation cases reported so far: EC

The National Elections Commission has so far received a total of 2,207 complaints regarding election law violations and violent activities, the Commission said.

It said 604 violent activities had been reported to the National Election Complaint Management Centre while 1,602 complaints had been reported to District Election Complaint Management Centres.

During the 24 hours from Monday (06) to yesterday at 4.00 p.m, 123 complaints had been reported in connection with election law violations.

The Commission established a National Election Complaints Center to receive complaints regarding promotions or demotions of any party/ group/ candidate or any action causing hindrance to the conduct of free and fair election during the election period, the National Election Commission said.

The center was established in the Second Floor of the Election Secretariat, Rajagiriy.

The complaints regarding violation of election laws may also be forwarded to the following telephone/ fax/ Viber/ WhatsApp/ numbers and to the following e-mail/ facebook of the National Election Complaints Center.
