At least 15 staff members of the Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama had to be moved to a quarantine centre after a patient, who was later tested positive for COVID-19, arrived to obtain treatment from the OPD, Hospital Director Dr. Wasantha Dissanayake said.

He said the staff members including some doctors had been directed to the Waikkal quarantine centre.

He said the patient from Orugodawatta had arrived at the OPD already knowing that he was infected with the virus.

Dr. Dissanayake said that services at the Apeksha Hospital are continuing as usual.(Nimanthi Ranasingha)

Not sure why all were send to quarantine centers. They should have been home quarantined as specified in the health department guideline.

Have a triage post at the entrance to the all healthcare facilities with the IR thermometers and set of questions about symptoms to ask, if we want to avoid quarantine all the health care workers.
