Kalutara North Police today informed the Kalutara Magistrate's Court regarding the mysterious death of a 14-year-old child inside an open Almirah in a house.
The child was a resident in Dediyawala named Willoraarchchige Dasanuka Sas.
An investigation was launched by the police on a complaint lodged by the boy's mother Liyanagama Kankanamge Shanthi Renuka. Police said the death had occurred when the child’s father had gone to the hospital for medical treatment and his mother had gone to a shop to buy food stuff for the family.
Investigations revealed that the boy's trouser and underwear had been lowered at the time the body was discovered.
Acting Magistrate, Bandula Weerasinghe conducted the magisterial inquiry and referred the body to the Kalutara General Hospital Judicial Medical Officer to conduct the postmortem examination and report to court. By Sunil S.Thanthri Arachchi
