Target way too much, 150 runs would have been reasonable to have a match of it. Finally, just another big match ended...

Sadly, the Thomians didnt show their "grit" to try and make this into a match this year

Ah really? If they were given 150 you would be writing that 50 would be reasonable.

Royal takes the honours and shows true grit, having come as the under dogs..

This match needs to be made a 4 day match. Easily this can be played on Sunday as well. Without longer games school players' grit cannot be improved. This will result in schools producing good test players.

Royal played well coming in as the under dogs, however didn't play well enough to beat the thomians. @Kadalay,both thomians and royalists showed true grit in this game. If it wasnt for a challenging 329 runs by the thomians this would have been a one sided game for the royalist. However at the end of the day the result is what matters. The royalists played well to try win the shield but the thomians played better to defend the shield.
