A 13-year-old disappeared while bathing near the Kammaltota river mouth in Kochchikade last evening, Police said, and is believed to have drowned.

Police said that the victim was from the Kochchikade area in Colombo.

The search for the child was being carried out by the Navy and police, Police said.
