12.5mn gold arrested at BIA

A passenger who landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) from Sharjah was arrested with more than 12.5 million rupees of gold, airport customs said.
 
The suspect arriving from Sharjah had landed in the country at around 4am today.

The 34-year-old suspect is a resident of Batticaloa.

Airport customs have begun investigations into the incident. (Deepa Adikari)
