Urgent SLFP CC meeting today

A special meeting of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Central Committee would be held today at party head office, sources said.

Following the speech made by President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday against giving nominations to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, SLFP Senior Vice President Janaka Bandara Tennakoon said the central committee should be summoned immediately to take a decision on the President’s speech.

Minister Tennakoon said the speech would be disadvantageous for the party during the election.
