It would be nice if the Sinhalese people first learn to speak Tamil at least they can then have a smooth communication within their country. They never had Arabic exams to send people to the middle east ?

A true Sri Lankan should be able to speak in all three languages (Sinhala, Tamil & English). Unfortunately we have here is majority racists who are ready to dispise anything that does not belong to his race or religeon.

Very soon, all Sri Lankans will have to learn Chinese anyway.

Do you know that Sri Lankan civil servant servants (including Doctors) working in Tamil dominated areas have to pass a "spoken Tamil" exam already?

Learning an additional language, whatever it may be, is good.

We are too late, the British government (your colonial worshipers) has already included Chinese language to their school curriculum as they know the future trend.

Of course, no question but we should create jobs in SL and not sending our potential intellectuals to develop the economy of other countries; this way we are going to be exporters of man power and dependents of other economies; not self sufficient. What happens if south Korea do not want to have our guys are we going to learn Malay or Chinese?

When I studied Moratuwa uni most of the forms were in SINHALA olnly. We need to pay people to fill these forms. Look at the bus sign board in Colombo only in SInhala. God save Tamil language in Srilanka rohan
