Several politicos from the Betel leaf rebel group too attended the recent public rally held in support of the 20th Amendment at the Vihara Maha Devi Park.

Among the rebels present at the rally was the talkative former Ministerial one from the Kandy district. He addressed a colleague seated next to him who too had good reason to see the deposed strongman back in power. “Machang, we can’t afford to stand divided any longer.”

“I agree,” replied the friend.

“The situation is taking a turn for the worse!”

“If this infighting continues, we will soon be at a dead end. We can’t fall apart. That’s why I decided to attend this rally,” the former Ministerial one said. They were silent for several minutes. And the former Ministerial one spoke up again. “There is only one sure solution to this problem!” “To what problem?”

“Uniting the two factions!”

“What is it? To resort to some kind of black magic or sorcery? An enigmatic smile was the answer from the former Ministerial one.
