Feel sorry for these parents. By allowing these protests the present govt is ensuring that the Tamils in Colombo will never vote for the SLFP. They want to keep the wounds raw.

Register these people as officially missing and help their families gain closure. Provide appropriate fiinancial aid counselling and support. Help them move on. I know it is easy for us safely tucked in Colombo to say. Other wise we will be back to square one with a new separatist war and future mothers fathers from sinhala tamil or muslim ethnic backgrounds will have to have similar protests for their loved ones.
