Shiranthi to appear before FCID

Former first lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa has been asked to appear before the police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) on June 1, over alleged corruption in connection with a bank account of the ‘Siriliya Saviya’ Foundation,MP Namal Rajapaksa told Daily Mirror.

An investigation was underway into the bank account of the ‘Siriliya Saviya’, whose patron is the former First Lady.

Everyone should be equal before the law Chris. According to the Law the gazette notification under which the FCID was appointed is inconsistent as the crimes specified are not recognized by the penal code. Also the architect of this the Prime Minsters appointment is also not according to the law. Therefore the Law of the land has nothing to do with the FCID. It is de facto arm created exclusively for vendettas.
