In an interview with Al Jazeera, former president Mahinda Rajapaksa has said that he would win if he contested at the next general election.

“I won’t say that I would contest for next prime ministerial post but if I contest, I know that I will win,” he said.

WK Costa, Do not count it in the same way as that of MR. SF also got 4.2M. But that is Presidential election and at National level. This is parliamentary polls and at present at district level if the election laws not changes. As such MR will becomes an MP but his unpopular goons will lose as votes will splits between, UNP, SLFP and MR faction.
