The wearing of face-covered helmets has been banned from April 2 in the wake of an increasing number of robberies and killings being carried out by motorcyclists wearing such helmets, Police said today.

The Police regulation states that helmets covering the face from the eyebrows up to the chin would be no longer allowed to be worn by motorcyclists.

They said they were keen to impose the ban with immediate effect because the identification of criminals wearing face-covered helmets with tinted visors has become a major cause for concern.

There is no need for full faced helmets. It is required when riding at high speed. No can do here. If they want to let em die. Helmets should not be used as a fashion or as a tool for crime.

Do we know any other country who has this low to stop crime?

Tyrone David Wednesday, 25 March 2015 03:52 PM

The solution i suggest is to ban people from wearing full faced helmets and walking even one step, after getting off the motorcycle.

Hey racist boys, why dont you give a racists comment.

    Adrian Wednesday, 25 March 2015 03:23 PM

The solution is since the police can not do their jobs, and robbers can always wear a mask, why not cut off all peoples legs. This way no one can ever attempt to rob a bank. And most importantly they will not be able to re-produce such idiots like the people who make these decisions.

Lanka Shantha Wednesday, 25 March 2015 02:50 PM

The law must be as no one can keep possession of those helmets even in homes. Govt must replace them with the normal one free of charge. Other wise it will come for work.

I like to know how many arrests were done by the police when robbers and criminals were not wearing full face helmets. You can also order motorcycleists not to wear scafs covering nose and mouth alow them to inhale poisonous vehicle fumes. Stupid implementations. via DM Android App
