New Director for CID

Four top police officials including the CID Director have been transferred with effect from today on service requirements by the Police Chief, police said.

Accordingly, SSP B.R.S.R. Nagahamulla, who was the director of Building Division, was appointed as the Director  of CID while former CID Director SSP D.L.R. Ranaweera was appointed the Director of Research and Planning Division, police said.


SSP L.S. Pathinayake, who was the Director of Supplies Division, was transferred as the director of Building Division and SSP B.L.A.S. Priyantha Weerasuriya was transferred from the Police Head Quarters to the Supplies Division as its Director.

    This alone not enough - attach at least another fifty officers to the CID to conduct the many new complaints received. Useless to delay as this gives time for covering up the crimes.
