Mr.Minister, trust security in Vanni, Trico, and Batti are in tact. Please increase by couple lagoon n Batti. Every body must comply with the law of the land. That is how it works all over the world.

UNP is making a huge blunder fooling the whole country about the huge numbers of military in the NP and EP.To start with they can release most of the land and buildings in and around Jaffna town. The MOD need not be running Hotels and restaurants on private land and claim it is National Security. prime example is the Lanka Cement land which was a private company where I had invested over a million rupees in 1982. The 10 rupee share is 2 rupees now with a single rupee of dividend for 33 years. That is the Harbor View Hotel, which is now having a Singhala name and falsely claiming that the Hotel was built by the army.MOD is also growing vegetables and fruits on private lands and competing with the local farmer by depressing the prices. MOD can take the vegetables to Dambulla since they have free fuel, trucks and labor, but not dumb the agricultural products in various towns where there are special polas. If the Sinhalese GOSL wants to have honest reconciliation and unity with the Tamis there has to be Truth, Justice and Accountability as well as reduction in the military in the North and East as well as reduction in troops in the whole Island- reducing the wastage of 2.2 Billion dollars being wasted.Donald Jayantha GnanakoneTamils For JusticeFounder (2007).

Good. Otherwise our poor village boys/girls are the ones who have to sacrifice their lives to save the country again.

    OMG Saturday, 07 February 2015 08:12 PM

Good move. Military should be spread out all over country to attend to emergencies may it be terrorist or natural disasters.

Respect the wishes of local population otherwise you are taking the nation for another cycle which we do not want. Too many soldiers intimidate the locals. TNA and the Chief Minister of Nothern province do not want too many soldiers. The nation must understand this. Very many people are still scared to speak up on this.

I hope and pray that our troops will be kept in the north and east , in their same numbers or even more with greater intensity and vigor but sadly what we are hearing from local sources are quite the contrary! Eg. Omanthai.

    Jena Saturday, 07 February 2015 04:43 PM

Honestly Why is the need for so much troops? almost 75% of forces are stationed on North-East. Now that there is no LTTE and It has been 6 years since the war finished. Please let the Tamil in North-East to back to their normal lives. We too are citizens of Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka is our homeland too.

    Mason Saturday, 07 February 2015 12:11 PM

Slowly, but surely back tracking on election promises - Port City, Troops reduction and will there be more to come !

Ruwan Dissanayaka Saturday, 07 February 2015 11:38 AM

Yeh you are wright but it is a foolish thing to dont respect other nationalities. We must win their hearts.Otherwise Elam concept will not die(diaspora effect).Like we removed military governor.we shall reduce unnecessary troops activities in North.Racism cultivated by previous regime, so people only worried about the country, not the economy or good governance. Also BBS and Rawana Balaya should be banned

    Bala Saturday, 07 February 2015 11:20 AM

So all the "Goni Billa" stories of the MR clique that My3 will give everything that TNA asks is a myth to get votes. My3 is a true nationalist - one nation for all.

    Tissa Saturday, 07 February 2015 11:18 AM

The troop strength is too much. We must seek international benchmarks customised to local situation to see how many troops we need to keep to maintain national security.

Welldone mate I am not a great fan of your govt and fully respect the decision you have taken backing the forces and they have made supreme sacrifice for our tomorrow and should be not jeopardize hard won peace and also national security at any cost. J Palitha Saturday, 07 February 2015 09:43 AM
