It is very wrong for you to say so: We earn foreign money and send most of it to our mother land. I myself have been sending millions to Sr Lanka. Without knowing facts please do not make commeents like that.

Ayya, You do not understand the legal technicality. Right or wrong if this motion is passed, the Parliament must address the President to request the removal of the CJ. Which is a constitutional requirement. In their haste, the parliament did not do that and president went ahead. Hence it has no force in law. Because of his adamant stance Mohan Peries made all legal eagles of the nation to burn midnight oil to spot this blunder which referred as executive error.

Martin Ayya Thursday, 29 January 2015 12:09 PM

The current President was part of the impeachment process when he was a minister. No matter what, Parliament approved the removal with a clear majority and that is in the order book. Parliament is supreme and the declaration was signed by the Speaker. Now what is this?

Dear Citizen.. Im not pleased with what you have said below. Remember they are the people who bring back your money which you have been paying abroad. Though you dont see it they are a big contribution to the economy. if those remittances were not happening you would have been tasting the consequences for that as well.. via DM Android App

Agreed, but let them enjoy the sun and food they so desperately miss and of course the warmth of fellow Sri Lankans.

It does not matter where you are residing in the country or not, if cannot see what is happening is sad and more sad.

    Melvin Thursday, 29 January 2015 10:47 AM

What a ridiculous comment.. These are wrongs which are being put right by this govt. There is an overwhelming yearning for the setting of independent commissions, pruning of presidential powers, right to information, etc. and these are being carried out by this govt.If you feel differently, I would say pls stay where you are. This country already has a surplus of jackasses...

    CJ Thursday, 29 January 2015 10:38 AM

Well PM, actually, you do have to live and contribute towards the motherland that you claim have a deep "attachment", so as to understand whether its "hell to live and serve in this country".

    Jaga Thursday, 29 January 2015 10:35 AM

People who live in abroad has more right than you to comment about our motherland.most people live abroad to make money and have a better life in their motherland and the money they pump in without taking any resources out of the country makes a pure profit to the countries economy.

    Patriiot Thursday, 29 January 2015 10:29 AM

Presidential Media Division is NOT Supreme Court.

lavijaya Sri Thursday, 29 January 2015 10:15 AM

Dear PM, I do not know where the hell you are living in. Definitely not in democratic country. You are definitely unlucky not to be living in Sri Lanka. These are democratic ways of undoing what is wrongly done. You are missing a lot of reformation going on our country which even Western world is happy about. People like you need not cry over it. These are crocodile tears. Stay in your greener pasture and look after the country you live in

If you are not a Government Servant and have no dealings with politicians and have moderate means things are not that bad. You got to come here and see.

Main cause behind CJ case Divi Naguma bill also unconstitutional. Good to see getting rid of the imposter (Mohan P). Shame on those who supported this imposter.

    PM Thursday, 29 January 2015 04:32 AM

Just want to share my thoughts here. Fortunately or unfortunately I do not live in Sri Lanka. However, I have a deep attachment to my mother land. Reading and hearing about what is going on in this tiny Island nation is really heart breaking! All this drama.........I am not sure weather to cry or laugh! Surely, it must be quite "hell" to live and serve the country in this type of situations.

Desmond Jeromme Thursday, 29 January 2015 08:48 AM

Nothing wrong indeed Justice brought the victory.

    Mayur Thursday, 29 January 2015 08:37 AM

I think, it is a fair deal now and Mr.Mohan Peiris should have accepted this position as he knew that it was an illegal affair. If he say ‘no that I don’t know’ then he is technically not fit to occupy that seat.

    Divya Thursday, 29 January 2015 08:06 AM

I condemn your statement. We still lead lives as Sri Lankans. There could be several reasons, why we are out of the country, yet, we are Sri Lankans and have the complete right.

    Democarcy Thursday, 29 January 2015 07:51 AM

That is not what constitution says!

    Citizen Thursday, 29 January 2015 07:09 AM

The people who has abandoned the country and gone to a foreign land to live should refrain from making any comments. Because they do not have any rights to talk about this country.

    chandlet Thursday, 29 January 2015 06:40 AM

Shriani was wrongly impeached "No doubt though her coming back is not the right way. Govt cannot simply rule she was right and Mohan is wrong without any procceedure taken place. This is grossly unfair on Mahina Peiris and contrary to good governance. There was a miscarriage of law for Shirani as well as Mohan.

    sri Thursday, 29 January 2015 05:03 AM

What a circus ! One govt sends people inside the cage the other govt takes them out .

WK Costa Thursday, 29 January 2015 05:03 AM

Presidential Media Division is void and no force in law under good governance.
