Former JHU provincial councilor Udaya Gammanpila said he had formed a new political party called Pivithuru Hela Urumaya under the founding principles of the JHU.
Twenty one members of local government bodies including 18 JHU members and three members from other parties are the founding members of the new party.
Party’s sole provincial councilor Udaya Gammanpila is the new party’s General Secretary. “We will fill other posts and will launch the party in the near future,” Mr. Gammanpila said and added that the party symbol was the lotus. (Shihara Maduwage)
