Four UNP MPs including Ravi Karunanayake, R. Yogarajan, Ajith P. Perera and Nalin Bandara Jayamaha were noticed to appear in court on Monday, October 27 for allegedly trespassing into Sri Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya premises in Colombo 2.
The complaint was lodged by the NSS after a group of UNP Parliamentarians went on a fact finding mission at the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) premises on October 21.
Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage issued the order sequel to a B Report filed by the Slave Island Police today. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

"Sri Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya premises"?????When did the ownership of Public Property pass on to a Trade union of a Political Party?
Nandana Thursday, 23 October 2014 06:35 PM
Is there a formal contract/Rent agreement granting the location as a Union Premises? Are similar premises given to other unions? Why pay overtime to workers to perform union political work? Was there a sign/notice at the entrance saying No Entry without permission. Otherwise it is State property that can be inspected by MPs

Wonderful! First government employees work on political propaganda work. They are paid 900 hours overtime in addition to the salary. They claim the premises belong to them. Then they assault the MPs and have the cheek to go to the courts! That is the marvel of Asia!

WOW !!! does the Judge know anything about LAW I wonder...IF its state Property the Parlimentarians HAVE the right to go there. Interestingly NO ACTION has been taken by the POLICE about intrusions done by BBS into MINISTRIES and also to meetings that were held legally also the case of BBS barging into the Mahiyangana Pradeshiya Sabha premises and a member who happened to be a MONK was given chase by goons with sticks. Does the law apply EQUALLY to all? NOT IN THE MIRACLE OF ASIA it seems. Politicians, Police and the Judiciary are hand in glove... How can laymen like me seek justice?

It is a great move. This is the only way to find out the faces of thugs. So SLFP thugs will go to courts and say they have rights to throw stones at MPs. Is it legal?Dhammika

How can a Union get a Government property for political activities? Can other political parties too get the same facility?
