Sprint Queen Susanthika Jayasinghe is to contest in the upcoming General Elections from the Kegalle district under the United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) ticket.

The Olympic Silver medalist told Daily Mirror online that she had receved the go-ahead from President Mahinda Rajapkse to contest the polls. (ISA)

    "The country has gone to dogs". we respect susi and other sports starts for there achievements in sports for our country. but politics is a total different ball game, you need to be educated, should have a academic or professional qualification to apply plans and stratergys take Sri Lanka to the next level.
