ANTON Thursday, 14 February 2019 09:45 PM

Ragula Friday, 15 February 2019 08:56 AM
You don’t know what is a cheithiya? It’s not just mound of brick, it’s build on the holy relics of Lord Buddha. Before commenting learn about other religion.

REEZ Thursday, 14 February 2019 03:46 PM
Is there any sign displayed not to climb up. I don't know the surrounding. But this photo shows just like steps. People who do not know about its archaeological value will climb up for photos.
Disawe Thursday, 14 February 2019 06:48 PM
So if there is steps on Kabaa you will climb it with shoes?
aruna Thursday, 14 February 2019 10:09 PM
The purpose is very clear! only the MUSLIMS climb these religious places.
Jinn Thursday, 14 February 2019 03:51 PM
Please keep a signboard saying ( Please respect the Cheithiya, Do not keep foot on it ). Over to you Archaeological Department.
Perumal Thursday, 14 February 2019 03:57 PM
Could someone clarify to me what the offence is,1. standing on a mound of bricks in the jungle or,2. taking a photograph while standing so,3. whether there was a notice board or an employee to advise the visitors that getting on the mound was prohibited or 4. was it the religious/ethnic identity of the two youngsters coupled with the act that made it an offence?
Raj Thursday, 14 February 2019 08:34 PM
Perumal don't try to smart by making questions 1 to 4 what do you mean by mound of bricks? Are you a Sri Lankan? If so did you go to school and study history or art? It's there for all students apart from religion.
Sunil Thursday, 14 February 2019 04:01 PM
This is going too far.

This act is a planned and organised one and they do it with teenagers or students. Imagine if a site of Islamic is insulated in such a way what will be the punishment in Saudi? Even you can't draw a cartoon about Islam. The government should take serious action.
Nash Friday, 15 February 2019 06:23 AM
Need to educate young people about the value of these archeological sites and the government should set up a clear mechanism to monitor these so called Extremist Arabic colleges. They are gonna b a menace in the future.
Anonymous Friday, 15 February 2019 12:12 PM
Yeah right! A group of students do something and Arabic Colleges are extreme. Go and check your head first!
Moo Friday, 15 February 2019 10:21 AM
Damn! Do we need to bring religion into everything topic discussed. It shows archaeological dept not safeguarding places. You all are Srilankans leave religion aside and work to make one Srilanka the best rather than hiding behind a device and spreading hatred. Peace
Sil Friday, 15 February 2019 10:28 AM
Stop permitting Muslims to enter those religious sites, this is attempt to provoke people and instigate communal disturbances, through out the world this is happening, punish them severely , as they do in Saudi,
Anonymous Friday, 15 February 2019 12:14 PM
Stupid just because one or two people do something, the entire community is not responsible for that. Then, even Buddhists shouldn't enter mosques for the damages extremists have done to them
Raj Friday, 15 February 2019 11:17 AM
There is a movement from Pakistan who is preaching to destroy statue worship in some years mainly to do in India and Sri Lanka.
Anonymous Friday, 15 February 2019 12:16 PM
Ah ok smartass! Show us evidence first, then we'll believe!
Kalu Friday, 15 February 2019 12:34 PM
Here you go, see how quick the movement is appointing some one to reply as anonymous. This itself a proof how far this has gone.
Sam Friday, 15 February 2019 01:10 PM
Evidence we have to monitor your mosque all time by keeping a security personnel.
