Law and Order Minister Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Deputy Minister of Law and Order Nalin Bandara Jayamaha and IGP Pujith Jayasundara are to visit North on Thursday to defuse the pro-LTTE mindset in the area.
Deputy Minister Jayamaha told a news conference today that he will visit North together with Minister Madduma Bandara and JGP Jayaundara to look into the recent violent incidence in the area and to defuse the pro LTTE mindset among the people in the area. “We will gather all stakeholders and will try to resolve matters,” the Deputy Minister said.
“There is only a pro LTTE mindset among the people in the area and that will be got rid of sooner or later. It will not be easy but we will do it. We will not allow the LTTE come back again,” the Deputy Minister added
“Intelligence units are on alert. Terrorism prevention units are active in the North,” he also said.
He also said the Awa group had raised its activities in the area but assured that government will do its utmost to prevent the LTTE from coming up again. (Yohan Perera)

When you guys are confused about the sovereignty of SL, how could you defuse the LTTE mindset in the North?

Please understand the issues first and stop knee jerk reaction. No one wants LTTE or separate country. The issue is not the coming back of LTTE but the inability of the Police to restore the law and order and this make the people to compare that element during the time of LTTE. Pay attention to Police services and all will be in order.

The GOSL can't force people to think a certain way or tell them how to think. That chauvinism was what started the war in the first place. It defies democracy. That is also utter arrogance from a coalition of elitists who have failed every single Sri Lankan so far except the Colombo-based business fraternity. STOP trying to strongarm every problem with a "get rid of" mentality and try to understand why people feel the way they do. There are systemic issues of identity invalidation and marginalization that areg swept under the carpet as extremism in both the North and South. If you don't get that after this many years of agitation, the GOSL is incapable and unsuitable to represent the peoples of SL.

Is this chap a God ? He has no clue about the needs of the North and East. First speak to the representatives of N and E about the needs.
