Can a laymen get a same prevention order for his or her case? True what "Oneshot" said, Srilankan judiciary is biased indeed.

    Upul Wednesday, 04 July 2018 05:37 PM

Why all these legal modifications or favours for the benefit of mainly one individual of the country? Is this the way the law should prevail, or, is this the normal srilankan style of law and order?

If someone is so powerful without power, then with power - it is unimaginable. This case will never see the light of day ever.

How long does it take a man to change a light bulb is a joke. But to decide yes or no for the judiciary .....................

    Unchikun Wednesday, 04 July 2018 06:29 PM

Only 2 1/2 years more and then case closed!!!

    Max Wednesday, 04 July 2018 11:50 PM

Most of the comments above are hillarious. Seems all want the blood of GR but not the justice. If there is no case to continue, whatelse learned judges can do? Hang him by hook or crook?

    Mahendra Wednesday, 04 July 2018 11:59 PM

I think this will lead to riots in the country against the impotent judiciary which comprises of spineless jerks .The Minster of Justice and CJ should resign if they have any sense of shame or responsibility at the way the cases are being disposed. All corruption cases against some individuals never sees daylight. The Bond Scam also should also be given the same treatment. ? Banana Republic.

one rule for one and one rule for another!

Don Amarasiri Thursday, 05 July 2018 12:27 AM

Though there is provisions in Law to deal similar matters on exceptional basis, judiciary has lost confidence in the face of the public. This is not the first time people lost faith in judiciary, but when a former CJ pleaded in open for apology by giving a wrong verdict. Being a person holding the highest post in the judiciary, no action was taken for contempt of court. Feel sorry for our children and next generations!

To throw crooks and thugs, we need Gotabaya back in the steering. Country getting worse and worse. Criminals are everywhere. Judges are doing correct preventing him get harassed.

    Sofia Thursday, 05 July 2018 11:42 AM

Glad you agree judges do not rule on the basis of facts of case before them but on outside bias.

    cdc Thursday, 05 July 2018 04:17 PM

All of current Ranil clans were very much afraid of Gota

Citizen Perera Thursday, 05 July 2018 07:11 AM

Is judiciary here is independent or dependent?

    Buddhist Thursday, 05 July 2018 08:45 AM

Its time to bring International Judges to the bench.

Kingsley Wijesinhe Thursday, 05 July 2018 12:00 PM

It is usual for judges to give reasons for their rulings. Has the Court of Appeal ever given reasons why they keep blocking any action against Gotabaya?

    Yehiya Thursday, 05 July 2018 01:35 PM

Who are the set of judges in the bench?

Baron Baaron Thursday, 05 July 2018 10:17 PM

This reminds us Cardinal Rev. Malcom Ranjith's recent statement, "Neethiya Pagavata yata vela" (Bribes have taken over the Law)
