Police personnel serving in the Northern Province have had their leave cancelled for two weeks by Jaffna Senior DIG.
Police said this has been done considering the prevailing security situation in the area because of the increased activities of the ‘Awa’ group.
They said special police operations are underway to arrest the members of this group.(Darshana Sanjeewa and Romesh Madushanka)

If all policeman's leave cancelled due to Awa group... the whole Sri Lankan's leave would have been cancelled during LTTE time if this government was there...

The law abiding people of Jaffna would support the idea of the Army taking over the “Search and Destroy “ operations of the criminal gangs in Jaffna. The Police and the STF in Jaffna are corrupt and they are not fit for the purpose.

The criminal gangs are local, from Jaffna. They are trying their best to create trouble and blame other people, just like the mad woman who wanted the ltte back! The locals should be aware the gangs are amongst themselves.
