Perpetual Treasuries Chief Arjun Aloysius has given liquor sales dealerships from Mendis Ltd to several MPs at a discount, Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake alleged yesterday.
Mr. Ramanayake told Daily Mirror that Aloysius had given dealership at a discounted rate of Rs 3 million per annum to the MPs whereas the usual price of the dealership had been Rs 6 million. “Some who had received liquor sales dealerships are government MPs,” he said.
He also said some government MPs have cancelled dealings which they were about to get into at the last moment after hearing that Aloysius was going to be arrested.
Mr. Ramanayake added that one prominent MP from the Opposition had got Aloysius to finance parties through which he had entertained his friends.
“I feel that the punishment given to politicians and clergy for theft should be doubled,” he also said. (Yohan Perera)

People are burden with all this unnecessary news whereas COL has gone up and the development has come to a standstill. Politicians, whether they are in the govt or opposition should get together find a solution to ease the hardship faced by the masses.

Please don't tell us 'some' MPs did this or got that. If you can't name the MPs then there's no truth in your statement.

Hey giving Liquor dealerships to MP's just the tip-of-the Iceberg!!! Although it considered as Licence to Print Money!!!?? But whole bunch of MP's have received Millions of Rupees from PTL and from the Aloysius Clan!!!?? Best way to prosecute the culprits is for not declaring to Inland Revenue thus avoid pay taxes!!! Now evading taxes should result jail term and fines!!!!

We talking of Alosius and Bond scam, push the govt. speed up the hearing and finish it off also if you check the bank accounts of some of the leading businessman would have given money as bribes to many govt. politicians and officers, it is happening even today. Please discuss of a mechanism by the Inland Revenue Department also automate the process and procedures as a preventive measure rather than postmortems. Nothing hear from media to motivate genuine entrepreneurs and change the backwardness of our society.
