More rains are expected in the next few days, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said quoting the Department of Meteorology.
It said there will be showers accompanied by strong winds in the North, North Central, Eastern and Uva provinces.
Rains accompanied by winds of up to 40 kmph are also expected over the sea off the coast of Batticaloa, Mannar Via Kankesanthurai.
Meanwhile, rains were reported from yesterday including Pasyala which had a rainfall of 63.5mm. (Yohan Perera)
