Government medical faculty students will attend lectures from November 20 after the issue of the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) was solved satisfactorily, Convener of the Medical Faculty Student’s Action Committee (MFSAC) Ryan Jayalath said.
He said that the anti-SAITM protests carried out by Inter University Students' Federation, the MFSAC, parents and several other groups came to end on November 8, after a discussion held with Deputy Minister Dr.Harsha de Silva.

Pity our future medical care. Hope they would at least be able to read test reports. Hope the future of medicine will change and there would be no requirement for so called 'doctors '

Congratulations! Finally you won the battle!
Bala Tuesday, 14 November 2017 12:43 PM
And now find another "cause" to raise hell with protests etc. to keep yourselves in the news. Otherwise IUSF will be forgotten.
Bala Tuesday, 14 November 2017 12:46 PM
Yes and now find another lost cause to raise hell and keep yourselves in the news and inconvenience us and deprive others of an education.

You may have won the battle, but you have lot the war. You will understand it when you want to make your kids doctors

Kumaran, please be mindful that because of politicians in this country, the country has lost more than this. The lapse was with politicians.

Perks of free Education!!!
Lasitha Tuesday, 14 November 2017 12:40 PM
This is utter nonsense... if they cant come for classes then just expel them from the program and give someone who deserve free education.

order them to pay the damagess they created for education before accept to universities.these are thugs not students. via DM Android App

There is no value in free stuff. Free education is not actually free public pays for it. Remove all the rewards doctors get and we will be able to see how many actually wants to serve the public who payed for their studies. Why not give these guys small jobs and request them to pay atleast 25% of their fee? then they will know the value of education.
azam shariff Tuesday, 14 November 2017 02:16 PM
and the SLMC must bring forward the exams for 27th November 2018 and see what these time-wasters have been upto.
Old Man Tuesday, 14 November 2017 02:32 PM
Luckily I am into my eighties and unlikely I will be there to be treated by these ruffians who pass out as doctors in a few years and specialise. But through free education they get a degree and fleece the public a Channel Consultants.

these thugs did not loose anything for the destructions they made.only the people of this country lost money.punish them with 100 million fines of jail. via DM Android App

CELEBRATIONS ON CUTTING NECKS OF THEIR OWN BROTHERS AND SISTERS ???
IK Tuesday, 14 November 2017 04:50 PM
They fought for their rights as students with better "cognitive abilities". Don't be jealous. Think as human beings, one day we all have to leave this world - empty handed.
Chamali Wednesday, 15 November 2017 06:55 AM
Just because they got higher marks in a paper based examination does not mean they have better 'cognitive abilities'. As doctors, they need to have ethics, integrity, values and compassion, words which these thugs have probably never heard of.
