The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) has issued fuel 55 percent more than the daily issuance from Thursday (9) until yesterday, Acting Sales Manager W.D.L.C. Abeygunawardene said today.

He said excess amounts of fuel including Lanka Petrol Octane 92 and 95, Diesel and Kerosene had been distributed by them to CEYPETCO filling stations Islandwide.

Therefore he said that there should be no fuel shortage at any of their filling stations at present. However he requested consumers to inform them if such shortages occur on the hot-line 011-5455130. (Thilanka Kanakarathna)

Whenever there is a fuel crisis people get panic and want to drive with a full tank even though the supply is available until the panic wears off.

This is because you failed to supply petrol for more than a week and most people;s tank ran empty, and now don't expect to get any appreciation for it.
