President Maithripala Sirisena, who is in New York to attend the UN General Assembly, toured Niagara Falls on Friday, Niagara Gazette reported.
“Before returning home, he made a stop in Niagara Falls to take in the natural wonder, according to Destination Niagara USA,” it said.
The DoubleTree by Hilton downtown hosted President Sirisena’s stay and he was also given a VIP tour of the Niagara Falls State Park including a ride on the Maid of the Mist, the news agency added.
In a tweeter massage, the President also stated;
Despite hectic UN schedule, I am glad to spend few minutes to enjoy scenic beauty of this well-planned city of New York pic.twitter.com/gdVHc5vbBr

Happy holidays Mr.President. All burning issues are still running at home.

I think it is an unfair statement. anybody visiting any country likes to do a bit of site seeing. we have our burning issues back home all right, but i feel this is undue criticism.

Please,There is nothing wrong when a leader of a country visits different countries and see how they are developed and learn something and bring it back to his land. In New York, a multi national society lives in peace and mutual respect.Nothing will be achived by living like a frog in the well.

The best view of the falls is from Canadian side not from the US side. You should have crossed the rainbow bridge to Canada for the best view.

Is it the Prez who visited Niagara or the family as well. Did the tax payers' fund the bill/s for the Prez Kids?

We Canadians would have loved to host Pres. Sirisena in Niagara Falls, Canada. I imagine you saw the greenery here, looking from the U.S. side.Our son is based in Colombo and explains how beautiful it is there, with peaceful people. Of course there are downsides to every country; however, we hope you will have a chance in the near future to visit us.
