A A A

An anxious moment followed the adjournment of Parliament yesterday when the quorum bell started ringing.

Several MPs rushed to the chambers while the media rushed to the press galleries at that moment.

It was found out that the bell was rung by an MP.

Few MPs then engaged in what it seemed like a drama. MP Ranjith Soysa then nominated MP Priyankara Jayawardene as the speaker. The drama continued for a few minutes. MPs were seen leaving the chambers. Some MPs inside seemed serious about the drama while others took it as a joke. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)

Our politicians are now confirmed as thugs. Most of them are unfit to hold the job as MPs. Sadly we keep on electing these idiots. It is a bad image to a country. Will they learn?

will be learn not to elect them next time?

    Mason Saturday, 29 July 2017 01:39 PM

The Parliament and the unworthies elected have no doubt become a big joke for the public, and the best part is the MPs care tuppence about it, and continue filling their pockets, at least most of them.

Are we going to elect such immature pack of jokers to the highest legislature in this country again??

    Sambo Saturday, 29 July 2017 08:00 PM

What can one expect from our politicians who have only passed grade 8. Parliament is like a Montessori to them. They act like hooligans. We feel ashamed of their actions but they don't feel any shame.

permanently move parliament to Angoda is the best solution votes have.
