Two elephants fell into the Z-C canal of the Maduru Oya in Manampitiya were rescued successfully and released to the Pimburaththewa reserve by Veheragala Wildlife officials on Thursday. Video by Nimal Jayaratna

    where have they been saved? they just helped themselves and escaped.

    I don't see any Wildlife Officials rescuing the animals. All I hear/see are villagers screaming and using their old tactics of using crackers to scare the elephants. Anyway, ultimately the awesome jumbos are safe.
