Please arrange the money to pay compensation for the victims who are effected by flood and meetotamulla. No need to buy vehicles for ministers.

    Sincere Friday, 26 May 2017 08:07 PM

Pls hurry up. Get the vehicles soon. Without this no flood relief can be given to the victims. This is the most essential thing at this hour!

Lord Wolfstein Saturday, 27 May 2017 09:30 AM

Rs.43 million to purchase a vehicle for the Deputy Minister of Rural Economy is a crime for a poor country. A Skoda or Dacia costs between 1 and 2 million Rs. (duty free). That must be enough.

new cars are more important then do something about the floodings that happen every year. Keep up the good work Government, fill your own pockets and don't think about the people.

Rhonda Taylor Saturday, 27 May 2017 11:27 AM

What a disgrace for our so called motherland.News flashes all over about new cars being promised to these useless lazy MPs and then we have to beg for flood relief from our neighboring countries for food.Garbage has not been picked up for the whole week. First and foremost dump the MP's as they are stinking garbage.Ordinary folk are donating foods and dry rations to the flood victims?? why not spend the money which is being reserved for these luxury vehicles on our own citizens???

    Valluvan Saturday, 27 May 2017 11:31 AM

Route this money in different way , Increase MP salary to 3 lakhs and Ministers to 5 lakhs. Attract more educated young people to parliament.

Tuan Sahib Saturday, 27 May 2017 11:34 AM

This is fantastic - in this hour of dire need when more than 100 has died and over and 1000 does not have a roof over their head or a meal in days, find one Minister or MP who will stand up and say - I do not want new vehicles or renovations, I,ll sit on the floor and do my job if I have to. He shall be the greatest hero in Sri Lanka.

Bad management. Why were these vehicles delayed? They should have been purchased before the flood disaster occurred!

    KATHIRESAN Saturday, 27 May 2017 05:43 PM

SHOULDN'T THESE FUNDS BE REDIRECTED FOR FLOOD RELIEF BEING THE URGENT NEED OF THE HOUR RATHER THAN BEGGING FROM OTHER COUNTRIES IF THESE POLITICIANS ARE PATRIOTIC.

    Mason Saturday, 27 May 2017 07:22 PM

More or less every year there is flood disaster. We donate to flood relief in cash or kind and pray the affected people return to normal life soon. It is the same this time too, but sadly the President is in Australia and sees no need to return immediately, sorry to say have not heard from the PM as well, probably he is planning his next visit abroad !What a shame !

Suresh Murugaser Saturday, 27 May 2017 08:17 PM

No money in the treasury and the government is almost bankrupt. Who cares, LUXURY VEHICLES FOR THE MINISTERS ARE A MUST ! The public will be squeezed to pay for it.

    Fazal Friday, 26 May 2017 07:24 PM

The country being hit by flood every year, won't be surprised even if they allocate money to buy luxury private boats for our poor ministers to distribute bananas for the flood affected people.
