United National Party (UNP) was contemplating of having a joint May Day rally this year, party sources said today.
According to sources a few political parties had expressed their interests in joining the UNP to have a joint rally on May 1.
The final decision would be made by the UNP May Day organizing committee, which is expected to meet after party Leader and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe returns from India.
Mr. Wickremesinghe will visit India on Tuesday April 25, 2017.
The party’s May Day Rally will be held at Campbell Park. (Yohan Perera)

It is better for the UNP to have a May Day rally with the "Bud" party also with most of the present cabinet of minsters. MS can have the SLFP rally and then the have a choice to vote at the next elections.
