A Maximum Retail Price (MRP) had been set for a kilo of rice, the Finance Ministry said today.

Accordingly, the retail price for a kilogram of Nadu was set as Rs. 70 and Samba as Rs. 80 effective from midnight today, it said.

Good move by the government to implement maximum retails price on rice. this will bring down price of lunch packets.

What assurance is there that this rice is from the lots imported during 2014/2015 graded as unsuitable for consumption and recently found within some millers stores, may be polished or mixed.
