Colombo Additional Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake made an order to the organizers of the protest, which to be held in Colombo against the SAITM today, to refrain from blocking roads of 12 congested places in Colombo and causing unnecessary public nuisance.
The Magistrate gave this directive and absolute order under Section 106 (1) of Criminal Procedure Court. He also observed that this order would not to prevent the organizers to conduct the protest peacefully.
The Magistrate directed organisers to conduct their protest at the Soyza Roundabout, University Grants Commission (UGC) around the Colombo National Hospital, Ceramic Junction, Galle Face Main Road, Kollupitiya Junction, Temple Trees, Presidential Secretariat, Lipton Roundabout, Olcott Mawatha and Maradana, without creating unnecessary public nuisance and without obstructing the traffic. Demonstrations should be allowed by all means. However, should not be a nuisance to public by obstructing the traffic. Just imagine the loss to the country and economy due to loss of time and fuel! Courts must rule that all demonstrations are done without blocking the roads.

While these jokers are protesting, the hardworking, dedicated, committed SAITM students will study and become the future doctors our country needs in larger amounts.

Although it is free Education, the fund is provided by all citizens of the country. There is a cost. I think to produce a Medical degree, the real cost will be more than a Medical degree in India due to an element of corruption in construction costs of infrastructure. When the student does not pay a cent, but further gets grant of money, the real cost is not understood by the student or even by citizens. When one is smoking,or drinking tea, or having bun, we are funding for education..Protesters must understand this
