A woman, who was receiving treatment at the Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital Malabe (NFTH), had allegedly died of suspicious circumstances yesterday, Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) said.

GMOA Secretary Navin De Zoysa said the woman, a resident of Dompe, had died after she underwent a surgery at the hospital.

In a statement GMOA said, Health Ministry and Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) should conduct an investigation into the incident.

“This is not the first time an incident of this nature had happened in this hospital which was operating without proper guidance of the Health Ministry,” the statement said.

As a matter of fact all deaths at hospitals must be tabulated for the purview of the public. We have a right to know. We paid taxes to give you an education. via DM Android App

This medical student is stupid, Hemoglobin 8.0 level is not critical to have a blood transfusion. Due to complications of blood transfusions, current trend is not to give blood. HB 8.0doesn't need a transfusion. She died due to a different reason.
