Nearly 90 per cent of the drugs recovered are known to find their way back to the market, Deputy Minister Eran Wickramaratne told a news conference today.

He said they should be burnt publicly as done in several countries worldwide. When asked whether the recently recovered haul of cocaine had been released into the market, the deputy minister said as far as he was aware it had not happened but such things had taken place in the past.(Yohan Perera)

So? Why complaining to us? Who has the power now? Take action rather than complaining to the public!

To put it straight, almost all powerful ministers protect major drug kingpins in the country along with police. This corrupted status quo is responsible for destroying the lives of the country's youth.

This is the status of our wise thinking Politicians.... but I'm afraid he's locking the stable door after the horse is stolen.

Obviously, those who detect play to the media. As there has never been any convictions or real exposure of who is behind these imports, we are not that stupid to know where they end up. In every other country those caught even for (thousand times) less quantities, are jailed or given death sentences. If the President and Prime Minister are not aware of who is behind this, then they are absolutely powerless or keeping their mouths shut. WHY?
