TM Dilshan will retire from one day international (ODI) cricket after the third ODI between Sri Lanka and Australia on August 28 in Dambulla.
However, he will be available for selection of T20S, Sri Lanka Cricket said.

dilsan you have taken correct decision before selectorsdrop you. You are a legend. Why play 20/20 ? that is not 39 game.
Aruna Thursday, 25 August 2016 02:41 PM
Dilshan, please change the decision for one more year. No Veteran and world class players left in the team as you leave.
kabuk Thursday, 25 August 2016 02:48 PM
20/20 meant for twenties not for 39 plus

Good decision though taken late. Only young blood with extra ordinary talent should represent country in any sport.

A good a decision at the right time. You have given your best to Sri Lanka Cricket and thank you for that. You will be missed but also good to see some talented young players knocking on the door to represent Sri Lanka.

I think the time has come for you to retire from all forms of Cricket. I appreciate your contribution to SL cricket and very thankful for that. No offence, but time to groom young and talented for future.

Remember, not even the great Bradman don't have a Cricket stroke named after him.!!!! Dilscoop, retire Gracefully!!! Don't wait till discarded or rejected!!!?? Am very sure you could play 20/20 Cricket in big bash, CPL, T20 Blast or maybe even IPL!!?? Thanks for the memories (especially in 2015 WC hitting Johnson six consecutive boundaries!!) Wish you all the very best and best luck in your future endeavors!!!
