A Sri Lankan man dressed in a burka was arrested at the arrival lounge of the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) this morning.

The suspect, a Muslim from Colombo, had told the police that he dressed in a burka to surprise his girlfriend who was returning from Qatar.

However, he was arrested by the police for questioning. (T.K.G. Kapila)

Without raising religious and cultural rifts why cant people deal with these matters on a logical basis. Have a seperate area/lane to check those who come in covered clothing from whatever group religion etc..If require take extra time and even strip and check but without indignifying any one. Hope sanity returns to human race fast.
