Former economic development minister Basil Rajapaksa was who was remanded on Monday was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital (CNH) from the Welikada Prison Hospital a short while ago, hospital sources said.
They said he was admitted to the CNH for an immediate checkup on the instruction of the prisons doctor.
The media spokesperson for prisons, Thushara Upuldeniya said the minister is being held under strict security. (Chaturanga Pradeep)
