The law and order in Sri Lanka applies only to the ordinary citizens, not for the elite. That is why its called BANANA REPUBLIC. What a shame!!!!

Justice in Sri Lanka depends on who you are and whom you know. What an injustice?

Quote DM : "The Judge released him on bail, considering special circumstances including him being a judicial officer and his contribution and assistance given to the CID in earlier investigations". - Unquote :First, being a Judicial officer and a responsible one at that he should not have got himself into this mess in the first place. He should have known what he was doing is against the law. Next he is supposed to have forged documents or being party to such criminal activity to take possession of the elephant.Second he never reported to the CID when he was called to do so and was absconding when arrest was imminent. So where is the logic? Is Sri Lanka going to the dogs, under Yahapalanaya? The JSC should put this whole case, from A-Z under a microscope and see that an impartial inquiry is initiated and take appropriate action or our beloved country will be the joker in the pack of responsible nations. In the meantime the AG, should initiate further action in a higher court.

Lajje ne wage. To what depths has our judicial officers fallen. I have no trust at all in the law. Kanishka gets away now Thilina gets away and the HC judge will get away.

How can we tell the world about independence of our judges - no wonder they wanted foreign judges for UNHCR inquiry.

Very strange of the HC judges statement saying considering his services to the judiciary. It should have been the other way about having not being an example in executing proper judicial functions. via DM Android App

Judiciary is working like this? Is it a joke again? Thilina didn't do any special contribution, he did a job!! So, we don't need any investigations into the Rajapaksas, all of them could be acquitted on account of eradicating the LTTE? Bloody nonsense.

    Bala Tuesday, 21 June 2016 01:14 PM

What ridiculing of the law - whether judicial office or not all equal

So special persons who engage in criminal activity are dealt under a special law. Please site that law for the information of special persons so that they too can engage in some profitable or enjoyable pass times.
